FOUR UCF MEN'S SOCCER PLAYERS HONORED BY A-SUN

MACON, GA. - Sophomore Eric Vasquez (Miami/Miami Sunset Sr. HS)
was named First Team All-Atlantic Sun, while junior Tobias Kronberger (Rankweil,
Austria/Borg Schoren) and freshmen Juan Pablo Giraudo (Miami/Miami Sunset Sr.
HS) and Ryan McIntosh (Cooper City/St. Thomas Aquinas HS) earned second team
honors, the conference office announced on Wednesday morning.
Vasquez, a midfielder and 2001 A-Sun All-Freshman Team selection, was one of
four players to start all 18 games. He was fourth on the team in scoring with
two goals and six assists for 10 points. He is tied for third in the
conference in helpers.
A versatile player who has seen time as a forward and a sweeper, Kronberger
has started all 15 games he played. He assisted on the game-winner in the 3-0
shutout of Belmont. He also earned second-team all-conference honors in 2001.
Giraudo and McIntosh were named both All-Atlantic Sun Second Team and A-Sun
All-Freshman Team. Giraudo, a forward who has played in 17 matches, is the
team's leading scorer with nine goals and one assist for 19 points. Currently
he is ranked fifth in the conference in goals while he is tied for sixth in
points.
McIntosh has started all 18 games as the Golden Knights number one goalkeeper.
He is third in the A-Sun in saves with 91, a mark that also currently ranks
him sixth in the UCF record books for most saves in a season. His 1.58
goals-against-average is fourth in the conference.
The No. 3 seed Golden Knights (8-7-3, 5-2-1 A-Sun) take on No. 2 seed
Jacksonville in the opening round of the Atlantic Sun Championship at 4:30
p.m. on Nov. 15 in Boca Raton.
