UCF Volleyball Defeats Morgan State

ORLANDO – Sophomore middle blocker Amanda Stoutjesdyk registered 14 kills and nine block assists to lead UCF to a four-game victory over Morgan State Monday evening in volleyball action at the UCF Arena. The Golden Knights won their fifth consecutive match of the season, 25-30, 30-22, 30-21, 30-22 to improve to 18-10 on the year while Morgan State dropped to 18-14.

Stoutjesdyk was one of three UCF player to record double-digit kills as the Golden Knights totaled 61 kills on the night. Junior outside hitter Leyre Santaella Sante totaled 14 kills and a match-high 16 digs and freshman right side Emily Watts contributed 11 kills and 13 digs.

Junior setter Jenny Frank also played well for the victors, finishing with six kills, 51 assists and 12 digs. The Colorado Springs native also had four blocks on the night.

Yolanda McGirt led the Lady Bears with 16 kills and 11 digs.

UCF returns to action Friday at 7 p.m. vs. Jacksonville in the UCF Arena.
