11-17-2002  UCF Defeats Kent State On A Stormy Night     The victory brings the Knights to .500 for the first time this season, and keeps their remote MAC East title hopes alive. While their chances of finishing first in their division are slim, the Knights have yet to give up on the idea.

11-14-2002  UCF KEEPS ITS FOCUS ON KENT STATE - TITLE HOPES STILL ALIVE     UCF continued preparations for a home game against Kent State on Saturday. The goal of winning the final three games remains even though UCF's chances for a league title were diminished with Miami's loss to Marshall Tuesday evening.

11-13-2002  UCF SEEKS HOME WIN     UCF and Kent State will kick off at the Citrus Bowl on Saturday beginning at 6 p.m. It marks the second time the two teams have met, but the first time as league opponents.

11-12-2002  UCF LOOKING FOR A LITTLE HELP BEFORE RETURNING HOME     The Golden Knights return to the Citrus Bowl on Saturday, Nov. 16 to take on Mid-American Conference opponent Kent State in what UCF is hoping will be the second of four wins to close out the season

11-10-2002  UCF Win Against Slumping Buffalo Bulls    Coming into Saturday’s game at Buffalo Stadium, there were questions as to whether or not UCF would be able to adjust to the cold temperatures and get the job done.

11-05-2002  KNIGHTS READY TO FACE CONFERENCE OPPONENT     UCF put a difficult 38-35-weekend loss to Syracuse behind them and began preparations to resume play in the Mid-American Conference as they head to Buffalo this weekend.

11-03-2002 Special Teams' Costly Mistakes, Knights Fall Against Orangemen     Syracuse defeated UCF 38-35 at the Citrus Bowl, in a game where the teams combined for 935 yards of total offense and 73 points. The shootout looked like it would be one-sided in the first-half, after UCF marched into the end-zone on a six-play, 69 yard opening drive.

11-01-2002  Knights Look For First Win Over Big East Opponent     The Knights are confident they can get their first ever victory against the Orangemen, and get their record back to .500. 

11-01-2002 FOOTBALL TO PLAY FINAL NON-CONFERENCE GAME ON SATURDAY     UCF concluded its week of practice on Thursday with a 16-segment workout lasting approximately an hour-and-a-half. The team, in helmets and shoulder pads, put the finishing touches on a game plan to take on the Syracuse Orangemen this Saturday at the Citrus Bowl.

10-30-2002  UCF HOPING FOR HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE AGAINST BIG NAME FOE     The Golden Knights will host the Orangemen in Orlando for the first time.  The Knights are anticipating another hard-fought game.

10-29-2002 KNIGHTS AWAIT ORANGEMEN TO DO BATTLE     The Golden Knights will conclude a three-game homestand this weekend with their final out-of-conference game against Syracuse. As far as UCF Head Coach Mike Kruczek is concerned this is still a very dangerous football team.

10-27-2002  Knights Win First MAC Home Game     It was their first Mid-American Conference win at home, and the Citrus Bowl faithful were not disappointed with their teams’ field-general, or his homecoming attack.

10-20-2002     Knights Fall On First MAC Home Game     The Rockets recovered Doug Gabriel fumbled at their 42-yard line during a crucial final drive in the 4th quarter to seal the victory.

10-20-2002     UCF lost its first-ever conference game at home   and for the first time in seven games at the Citrus Bowl, as they surrendered 27 points in the second half dropping a 27-24 decision to Toledo Saturday evening. to fall to 2-4 on the season.

10-18-2002     UCF HEADS INTO WEEKEND FOR FIRST GAME OF THREE-GAME STINT AT HOME     The Golden Knights wrapped up practice Thursday and will head into the Citrus Bowl on Saturday for the first of a three-game homestand that will see them face off against a strong Toledo squad.

10-17-2002     Toledo Game To Be True Test For UCF Defense     UCF continued preparations for its first-ever MAC home opener on Wednesday, holding a two-and-a-half hour workout in full pads.

10-15-2002     UCF RETURNS HOME AND FACES IMMEDIATE CHALLENGE IN TOLEDO    The Golden Knights headed to the practice field nearly 45 minutes early on Tuesday afternoon as to not tempt the 40 percent chance of showers projected for the UCF campus and surrounding area.

10-13-2002     Asante Helped Knights To First MAC Victory     UCF defeated Western Michigan 31-27 on Saturday, marking their first Mid-American Conference win in school history.

10-07-2002     Knights Looking For First MAC Win     The Golden Knights will try for their first Mid-American Conference victory of the season on Saturday, when they take on the Western Michigan Broncos. The Broncos come into the game with a 2-3 record, but UCF is not taking them lightly.

9-26-02  UCF vs. Liberty Predictions  Alex Haynes did well last week against Marshall, ripping off a 58 yard touchdown run on the way to 131 for the game.  Haynes should approach 200 yards on the ground, unless his legs fall off.

9-18-2002     MARSHALL GAME PREDICTIONS     UCF, stymied, stunned, and left for dead following last week's embarrassing loss to Arizona State, must climb Mount Leftwich in order to avoid falling to 0 - 3 on the season.

8-20-2002     THE SEASON     The UCF Golden Knights will open their season once again on the road against the Penn State Nittany Lions on Aug. 31.
